Parity with US dollar.... is it time to celebrate for an australian?
Some financial experts consider this a historic moment and urges the average australian to live it to the full. For a commoner it sounds good at the outset as a strong aussie dollar means we are well off than before.
Its a good time for overseas travel and better still if you are catching the flight to USA, best of times to go on an online spending spree and well a good time for a migrant to send money overseas. Experts say the reasons to smile ends there while reasons to press the panic button are numerous.
'Competitive devaluation' thats a sample of the financial terms thats being thrown around in the media to explain the current scenario. In short one thing is clear the fall of US dollar is a staged one with US authorities using artificial means to alter the playing field that's world market.
Either way I am gonna celebrate the moment as I fall into the category of middle class working group. I have in fact worked on a list of activities to CELEBRATE.
1. Go online and choose one amongst the many of gadgets/software which I didn't want to purchase earlier. Its easier now as I don't have to work out the extra aussie dollar that I have to pay on top of the listed US dollar figure.
2. I am gonna transfer $5 to my friend in US and tell him its me sending $5 to you.
3. I will sign off for the night sipping Budweiser bought with my credit card.
