4 months into 2023. I have a resolution.
My new year resolution was not to have a new year resolution.
Here I am, committing to a route map on a highway with 2 horizons on either side. One behind me that my position suggests that I have gone past, and another a blankish canvas stretching out in front. Where is the imagination that will settle down as lines on the canvas? Who will pour colours into that life in front?
43 years on. This is a year of reflection. I decided.
Now the decision has been made, let me give it my all to practise my desire, no my decision, deliberately.
Deliberate practise. The key to moving forward on your own terms.
Reflecting and thinketh is my decision.
1. This is your mind on plants: Opium - Caffeine - Mescaline - Michael Pollan
Caffeine stood out. Full stop to my experiment with green tea, even though Pollan is all for coffee (tea, the milder version with less caffeine). Bodhidharman's eyelids paint the tea leaves with the spiritual culture. The contrasting duality between cultures.
1,3,7-trimethylxanthine the psychoactive caffeine gets in the way of adenosine, the neuromodulator with depressive and hypnotic qualities.
Sedate, Stimulate, Halucinate.
2. In the Age of Noise - Erling Kagge
Silence is within. It's there wherever you are.
Silence is loud.
Pauses accentuate the message.
